Davoth vs God Emperor of Mankind (Doom vs Warhammer 40K) feat. Cyber and Ginger
Davoth, The Dark Lord of Hell
The God Emperor of Mankind, Lord of the Imperium
God Kings, betrayed by their very own. One the pinnacle of evil, the other seen as a savior. These mythical creators face one another. Who will reign supreme? Let’s find out in this DEATH BATTLE!
Before We Start…
For this fight we will be looking at Warhammer 40k in its entirety, minus Warhammer Fantasy. Fantasy is dubiously canon and as such will not be used. For Davoth, all Doom material will be considered, except for Non Canon material such as the films or Quake (See Before the Verdicts)
Finally, the Horus Heresy series has over fifty-four officially numbered novels and anthologies, plus twenty-four stand-alone novellas, ninety-six short stories, forty-eight audio dramas and one comic. The Siege of Terra has 8 novels (with the final book being so big it was split into 3 volumes), three novellas, and an anthology. There are 18 stand alone Primarch Books (And one for Constantine), alongside 7 audio dramas. And a sequel series, The Scouring, has already been announced.
In addition to this, there are legitimately hundreds of other 40k novels, audio dramas, and comics available as well. And over 200 codexes across 10 editions of the tabletop game itself.
All this to say, Discount Ginger is just one man, and as such will die of old age before I am able to go through the absolute endless media available for 40k, to check for scalable feats/cosmology details/etc. While this blog is a very comprehensive look at The Emperor Of Mankind, it is by no means exhaustive.
We will also be referencing the 2025 Master Chief vs Doom Slayer G1 Blog. One of our members wrote several sections of the Before the Verdicts for the blog, and they will be referenced later on in the blog. Full credit to the G1 for assistance. Also thanks to Flip for template images and backgrounds. You rock! Credit to Rina and Tommy for Doom calculations. All fan art credited to their creators.
Kaiser addendum: Despite the images mentioning the G1 blog, this blog is not affiliated with G1, nor is it a conventional TGTQVS blog. It is a separate project written and researched entirely by Cyber and Discount Ginger. We are merely hosting it. That said, I'm happy to be helping out with this project somehow. Enjoy!
Background
Davoth
Born into the Void as the first God, the Primeval Davoth sought to create life and worlds. Davoth used his godlike power to create the first universe known as Jekadd, a paradise world for his subjects. Davoth set to work on other worlds, creating the technological marvel of Urdak. Davoth was as much of a builder as he was a warrior, and with the assistance of the energy of the Void, he created the Multiverse as we know it. Davoth however wasn’t satisfied, he wanted to cure the one the blight all of his creations would eventually experience: Death. The immortal creator god created the Maykrs, a winged race of intelligent Demi Gods. The Maykrs were tasked to find a cure for death while Davoth made more realities and ruled from his capital city of Immora. Davoth’s obsession to bring eternal life to his subjects magnified, and the Makyrs feared their God might destroy everything he had made in his quest. The Maykrs made a decision, and their mightiest warrior called the “Father” rose up against Davoth. In a battle for all of Creation, the Father defeated his maker, and sealed away his essence and the realm of Jekadd away from all other worlds.
Defeated but not truly dead, Davoth conspired and corrupted Jekadd into Hell, its residents becoming Demons which would ravage the Multiverse, adding universes to Hell’s mass. Davoth laid out a master plan to regain his body and cause the demise of the Maykrs and all those who betrayed him, setting in motion the empowering of a human soldier called the “Doomguy”. This warrior, now known as the Doom Slayer, defeated the Maykrs and came to realize killing the Dark Lord would be the only way to end the threat of Hell forever. The Doom Slayer took Davoth’s life core and restored it, setting in motion a final battle for the fate of existence. A massive battle ravaged the very center of Immora, capital city of Hell. Davoth and his Demons, Doom Slayer and the Nights Sentinel. Despite fighting with all his might, the Doom Slayer killed his creator, ending the threat of Hell.. for now.
The Emperor Of Mankind
-Roboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines, and the Emperor’s son
Incredibly little is known about The Emperor’s origins. Even his very age is shrouded in myth, with rough estimates saying he was born around 10,000 BC. He watched humanity from the sidelines, hidden from view, only occasionally interceding to nudge humanity on the proper course. And as time passed, eventually humanity grew and developed, their technology advancing further and further until they held the power to reach even the distant stars, where they spread across the galaxy and settled across the numerous worlds they found. This was known as the Age of Technology, a golden era of human advancement. Warp Drives, Psykers, machines of incredible artificial intelligence known as the Men of Iron, and more allowed humanity to reach heights never before seen! However, this futuristic renaissance was not to last, for between the rebellion of the Men of Iron, and the birth of the Fourth Chaos God Slaanesh, mankind fell into a horrific dark age known as the Age of Strife.
From this time of endless civil wars and fractured colonies, The Emperor finally emerged from hiding. Conquering Terra with his Thunder Warriors, he decided that the only way for mankind to survive and reach their potential would be with himself at the helm, leading a new Imperium of Mankind. Upon finishing his conquest of Terra, The Emperor brought forth one of his finest creations: The Adeptus Astartes, Space Marines. Spanning across twenty chapters, he then created the Primarchs. Warrior sons genetically enhanced and imbued with aspects of his very own geneseed. But the Chaos Gods stole away all of the Primarchs, and cast them away across the galaxy. So the Emperor began his search for his lost sons, as he began what would be called The Great Crusade, reunifying all of humanity whether they wanted to join the Imperium or not. Having reunified his sons, he named Horus Lupercal Warmaster and retired back to Terra to begin work on a new project to ensure safer interstellar travel for humanity without the perils of The Warp. Unfortunately, in his absence (and hubris), Horus and several of his sons were corrupted by Chaos, and turned on the Imperium in a great civil war which would be known as The Horus Heresy.
With the Imperium divided, war raged for several long years, culminating with Horus laying siege to Terra itself. Eventually after much death, The Emperor managed to board Horus’s flagship, The Vengeful Spirit, and engaged his firstfound son in single combat. The battle was fierce and brutal, but despite everything that happened The Emperor could not bring himself to kill his beloved and favorite son. Even after taking mortal wounds, it wasn't until Horus was stripped of the powers of the Chaos Gods, and begged his father to slay him, that the Emperor was able to oblige Horus’s final wish.
Half dead and dying, the Emperor was dragged by his allies to The Golden Throne, where he was interred mere moments from death. There, the chair kept him alive, fueled by the souls of a thousand psykers a day, where his once glorious body decays and withers to a mere husk, where he can sit, helpless and trapped in his own body and mind as he watches the Imperium he fought so hard for decay into a religious fanatical theocracy. His remaining loyal sons slowly lost or disappeared over the millennia. The forces of Chaos he so desperately fought to starve now feasting on the suffering and strife of humanity. Until now, in the 42nd millenia, when all hope seems lost, when the galaxy itself is cut in half by warpstorm, and the immateria threatens to destroy all of realspace. Now, in humanity’s darkest and most desperate hour, the Emperor has begun to stir. His body seems to finally begin to ever so slowly knit itself back together. Perhaps someday soon, the Emperor shall return to save the Imperium he founded.
Experience & Skill
Davoth
Davoth is first and foremost a warrior, ruling hell by being the strongest and most skilled fighter in the realm. Davoth ruled Jekadd and all of creation for millennia, and was on the forefront in battle with the Father and the Maykrs after they turned on him. He is the mirror of the Doom Slayer, his equal in combat. Davoth is a skilled swordsman, wielding a Crucible blade effortlessly against the Doom Slayer in their fight to the death. The Doom Slayer trained for countless years with the Night Sentinels, the most elite combat unit in the multiverse, and Davoth was more than his match.
The Dark Lord is also a scientist and builder, creating the realms of the multiverse with technology born from his wit. Davoth’s ultimate goal was to cure mortality for his subjects. For this, he built the Divinity Machine, a device that could peer into countless futures. He is also a master manipulator, feeding falsehoods to both Samur and the Kahn Maykr to bring about the demise of the treacherous servants of the Father. Davoth was able to play the Doom Slayer like a puppet, bringing about his empowerment and warpath across creation. Alas, it was this very manipulation that led to Davoth’s end.
Emperor Of Mankind
The Emperor is over forty thousand years old, and has fought against practically everything that walks, talks, crawls, or flies in the galaxy and immaterium. He is a master tactician and strategist, having thousands of plans at any moment, and contingencies for those plans as well. He led the Thunder Warriors in the Unification Wars of Terra, and then led the Great Crusades across the entire galaxy, conquering over one million worlds across two centuries! He is nearly unrivaled as a scientist, spearheading the development of transhuman soldiers such as the Thunder Warriors, Custodes, and Space Marines. He later went on to create the Primarchs for whom he used his own DNA as a template. He’s even a master smith, hand crafting numerous artifacts of incredible power bestowed upon his greatest warriors. Not only this, but he is frequently stated to be the greatest psyker in all of human history, capable of handling thousands of tasks mentally with his mind during the Siege of Terra simultaneously.
Even while interred on the Golden Throne, his psyker powers are still potent enough to possess people across the galaxy, keep the Warp strong armed out of the Sol System, and power the Astronomicon at the same time. When Malcador, an incredibly powerful and experienced psyker in his own right, attempted to take the Emperor’s place on the Golden Throne so the Emperor could face Horus during the Siege of Terra, he was immediately overwhelmed and struggled to simply keep things running while on the Throne..
Equipment
Davoth
Power Armor
Davoth constructed a towering crimson power armor for his final confrontation with the Doom Slayer. Heavily armored and surprisingly agile, the armor has two built in shoulder cannons, which can fire energy blasts and explosives. The armor also comes with an energy shield, which Davoth can use to repel attacks or use for a charging shield bash. Even when heavily damaged, the suit can continue to function in combat, with no noticeable drop in performance. It is also a Gundam reference (sneak Kaiser edit).
Crucible
The Crucible is a superheated blade made of Argent Energy, energy born from Hell mixing the Essence of souls with Sentinel Energy. Argent Energy is hot enough to vaporize humans or demons with ease. The Crucible instantly cauterizes the wounds it leaves, and it can negate the immortality of the Titans, massive demons that can revive themselves even after being reduced to skeletons, derived from their Essence (or soul). The Crucible can be used to absorb the energy of Hell to power down the Well, a structure that gives Hell unlimited Argent Energy. Davoth wields a greatsword version of the weapon, which he wields with deadly efficiency.
Emperor Of Mankind
Power Armor
Power Armor is standard amongst any of the Imperium’s elite troops, and The Emperor’s armor is even greater. Thick ceramite plates protect the body from any physical harm, and generators power refractor shields that displace any shots or energy that would harm the user. Furthermore, The Emperor’s power armor is forged with Auramite, which enhances The Emperor’s already potent psyker powers.
The Emperor’s Sword
The Emperor’s primary fighting weapon, a massive blade longer than some men are tall. Forged with The Emperor’s knowledge of both science and warpcraft, it is capable of sending all but the most powerful Demons a True Death with a mere touch, and creating lasting wounds demons cannot heal. The Emperor can even light it on fire with his psyker powers and even scorch Nurgle’s Garden and the Plaguefather himself. Currently wielded by Roboute Guilliman, the Primarch can feel the sword still contains some of its creator’s immense power even now.
The Emperor’s Lightning Claw
A power gauntlet equipped with five razor sharp adamantium talons. Each talon has its own personal power generator, which creates a miniature field around the claw which disrupts matter, allowing it to tear through flesh and armor with ease.
Boltgun
The standard issue weapon of all Custodes and Astartes soldiers, the Boltgun is a .75 caliber rifle that shoots explosive shells at its target. Designed by the Emperor himself, it has been used to win countless wars for the Imperium.
Emperor’s Tarot Cards
A pack of 78 psychoactive liquid wafters linked directly to the mind of the Emperor, and used for the purpose of divination. When used in the warp by The Emperor however, they can be used to control cause and effect.
Abilities
Davoth
Primeval Physiology
As the first Primeval, Davoth is gifted with eternal life and superhuman strength surpassing any demon or lifeform in the multiverse. As a Primeval, Davoth shares a symbiotic connection to all demons in creation. Should Davoth perish, all demons outside of Hell’s confines will cease to exist and his essence will be “scattered to the stars”. The demons of Hell are an extension of Davoth’s will. Davoth exists as a physical body, and a Life Sphere, a device that houses his memory, intelligence, will, and Essence. Davoth, and by proxy all demons, uses his Essence to create weapons or for energy attacks. Essence is the life energy of a being, their very souls as energy. Davoth can manipulate his essence and of others, which is explained below.
Essence Manipulation
Essence is the building block of life; every life form in the infinite multiverse has Essence. It is the life energy of every being, which demons and Davoth can manipulate in combat to empower themselves. As described by Samuel Hayden, Essence is the soul, the very “Essence of Life”. Essence correlates one to one with the physical power of a demon or Primeval, as shown with the Doom Slayer. Doom Slayer (who is empowered by Davoth’s fragment) shows that Essence increases health, durability and strength after absorbing it from demons. The Spirit demon is also evidence for this, existing as pure Essence and amplifying its host’s speed and strength by adding that Essence to their own. Not only can Davoth use Essence for attacks, but he can manipulate the minds of others, even when he himself was reduced to nothing but his Life Sphere. Davoth scales to the Father, who ripped out his own Life Sphere, though it seems to require killing the target to do so (Slayer destroyed Davoth’s Life Sphere via impalement, crushed Father’s core with his own hands, etc.).
Healing & Power Absorption
Like the Doom Slayer, Davoth can absorb the Essence of others to empower himself. This even applies to other beings on his level, like the Father. Absorbing Essence seems to also give the recipient the abilities of the victim, as shown with Samur gaining the Father’s control over Urdak after unwillingly absorbing the power of his Life Sphere. Davoth claims he can devour the Doom Slayer’s soul, and he can heal himself every time he lands a blow on his opponent, likely leeching on their Essence to do so. The Divinity Machine, which houses a shard of Davoth’s Essence, destroys the soul of every person attempting to gain its power.
Corruption & Curses
The influence of Davoth’s Essence goes far beyond sustaining the existence of demons and manipulating souls. As the creator of Jekadd, Davoth’s anger at the Maykrs for their betrayal bled out in the foundations of the first realm, transforming the paradise into Hell itself. Jekadd was terraformed and overtime even the laws of physics in the first universe were distorted. Davoth can weaponize his corruptive nature, turning it into curses. He cursed weapons used by the Armored Barons, granting them the ability to destroy souls. It is likely Davoth can also use the curse to destroy souls himself. Hell itself adopted Davoth’s corruption, producing hellgrowths which terraform planets into a hellscape.
Dimensional Travel
Davoth can open portals in space time to traverse dimensions, crossing over from Urdak to Hell upon his resurrection. More impressively, he can move himself and his opponents across any universe in the multiverse at a whim.
Forcefields
Alongside his energy shield, Davoth can make a far spread forcefield, which he uses to prevent his opponents from escaping combat. He teleports the whole field with him when he shifts dimensions.
Support: Summons
Likely an extension of Davoth’s control over Essence, the Dark Lord can summon ethereal copies of multiple demons. These range from Sentinel Wolves, Hell Knights, Barons of Hell, a Mancubus, a Pain Elemental, and a Tyrant. He can also summon Zombies to assist him in combat.
Resistances
Note: Given Davoth’s connection to the Doom Slayer after the latter empowered himself with the Dark Lord’s Essence, they should share resistances to a degree.
Electricity: Davoth and other demons can stand unharmed in electric pools.
Spatial Attacks: Via scaling to Slayer, who is unharmed by attacks from the Acolyte demons, who tear reality apart.
Possession: Lost Soul demons can possess humans, yet cannot do so to the Doom Slayer or Davoth.
Soul Destruction: Armored Barons cannot destroy the Slayer’s soul despite their cursed weaponry, which should carry over to Davoth as well. This does not carry over to his Life Sphere. Slayer survived the Divinity Machine, which destroyed the soul of all its prior users.
Absolute Zero: Davoth is unaffected by Doom Slayer’s ice bombs, and the Slayer is unaffected by the Absolute Zero temperatures of Vega’s cooling system.
Radiation: The Doom Slayer, demons and Davoth are not affected by exposure to radioactive wastes or direct high levels of radiation.
Biological Manipulation: Argent Waves are capable of transforming humans into mindless Zombies, but they cannot affect Davoth or the Slayer
Extreme Heat: Davoth can withstand blows from the Sentinel Hammer, which is a Crucible weapon made of Argent Energy. Such a weapon can vaporize humans with its heat and is potentially far hotter.
Madness and Mind Control (1 Layer): The Slayer can resist the mental effects of objects from the Cosmic Realm, which drive humans mad, and break out of the Tether, a device used by the Maykrs to control his mind. Later on the Maykrs increase the power of the tether to control Slayer once more, but he adapts and breaks out. As mentioned prior, Davoth should be capable of the same.
Disease and Poisons: Davoth and Slayer are immune to the toxic atmosphere created by Hellgrowth and to diseases in general.
Minor Resistance to his Essence being affected: Davoth was ripped down into a Life Sphere by the Father, yet kept his consciousness active and had no issue with the extreme pain of resurrection. It is not full immunity, as the Father did reduce him to a Life Sphere, and the Slayer destroyed his core.
Emperor Of Mankind
Perpetual Physiology
Ollanius Pillus, a Perpetual
Perpetuals are immortal and nigh indestructible human beings. Their specific powers vary, with some simply given the gift of eternal life, while others can regenerate from any wounds such as decapitation or even complete disintegration. The Emperor is a Perpetual himself, which is how he was able to live for over 40 thousand years, is stated to be impossible to kill physically, and was even capable of regenerating his very soul in his fight against Horus, although Horus was shown to be capable of overtaxing this regeneration overtime.
Psyker Powers
Fancomic made my emwattnot
Psykers are beings with a connection to the Warp, that can draw on its power to create effects thought by some to be “Magic”. The Emperor is the strongest psyker humanity has ever produced, possibly in all of the setting. With simply nobody ever being shown capable of ever matching him in sheer psychic might outside of the combined efforts of the Chaos Gods themselves! As such, he is capable of incredible feats of power by drawing upon The Warp. Even when interred on the Golden Throne, his psychic presence is powerful enough to terrify Eldar Harlequins, and keep out all 4 Chaos Gods and their forces, who constantly try to break through. We will get into what The Warp is later, but for now simply understand it as the source of all psyker powers. But to go over some of the powers that The Emperor is capable of:
- Memory Manipulation: Alongside Malcador, mind wiped all of the Primarchs of all memories of the lost Primarchs, removing all recollection they even existed. Even the most basic psyker can remove memories from someone with precision.
- Interdimensional Beacon: During the Great Crusade, powered the Astronomican, a Psychic beacon that can be seen from anywhere in The Warp to allow interstellar travel.
- Biological Manipulation: Can stop his uncle’s heart with a thought
- Existence Erasure: Can absolutely obliterate a person’s body and soul in a burst of light, leaving nothing but ash
- Lightning Manipulation: Can channel a massive blast of lightning, arcing through enemies and generating massive energy shockwaves that can reduce an entire battalion of World Bearers to ash and melted metal
- Earth Manipulation: Even the most common Space Marine Librarian can manipulate the earth
- Time Manipulation: Can stop time
- Fire Manipulation: Can blast fireballs across every axis across infinite planes
- Can manifest a malefic eye to track Horus across the infinite planes of The Warp
- Illusion Manipulation: Can conjure simulacrum illusions strong enough to fool other powerful psykers such as Horus
- Soul Manipulation: Tore Horus’ soul in half with his power
- Shields: Can create mind shields to protect himself from physical and magical attacks
- Telepathy: Can telepathically communicate with people across the galaxy
- Matter Manipulation: Shrunk and captured a star
- Portal Creation/BFR: Can create portals to the warp and throw stuff in them, such as a plasma core about to blow
- Reality Warping: Steals power from a warpstorm and fires it right back at his attackers
- This Storm had more power in it than all of human history and he still didn't give a damn. THIS WOULD LOGICALLY INCLUDE THE BIRTH OF SLAANESH
- Interdimensional Shockwaves: His battle with Horus unleashes shockwaves so powerful they hurt the 4 Chaos Gods
- Space-Time Manipulation: Parries Horus’s blow by throwing him across time and space. Several times
- Power Absorption: Can steal power from Horus without him even realizing it
- Enhancement: Can physically enhance people around him, and empowers Lotken’s sword to cut though materia
- Multi-Mind: Is capable of handling over a thousand tasks simultaneously with his mind, including observing a planetary war on both a macro and micro level, delving into the minds of warriors to see the flow of combat at a granular level, keeping the forces of Chaos at bay, and soothing the minds of over a billion refugees. A feat Malcador, an incredibly skilled and experienced psyker in his own right, believes he can't even begin to match.
- Resurrection: Can resurrect Gulliman and possess his body
- Sealing: Sealed the demon Drach'nyen into a sword, and then sealed the demon into a Custodes
- Telekinesis: Can move objects with his mind, or crush Orks to pulp
- Technopathy: Could completely repair the Armor of Fate when he resurrected Guilliman, shut off the entire webway project with a wave of his hand.
- Transmutation: Turned bullets to smoke with his thoughts
- Summoning/Necromancy: Summoned an army of Space Marine spirits to fight for him
- Foresight: Can see an infinite number of futures, although it takes time and effort to discern which one is most likely to occur
- His mere presence can passively shut off psyker senses.
Note: All of the above listed powers are likely layered, given how drastically more skilled and powerful The Emperor is than even the most talented Space Marine Librarian, demon, or high-level psyker. Who themselves are even more capable than the average sanctioned psyker employed and used by the Imperium at large, who can accomplish many of the above listed powers such as soul manipulation, reality warping, telekinesis, mind manipulation, elemental control, and so on. As an example: one such powerful psyker The Emperor would be greater than is the Cacodominus, a being that could psychically dominate the minds of 1300 systems.
Sigillite Magic
The Emperor is capable of channeling his magic into sigils for various effects, such as a delayed explosion on a target, spinning buzz saw like projectiles, or as a protective ward against enemy warpcraft. While some psykers such as Horus dismiss it as crude and basic, The Emperor’s applications of it are still of great use in his battles.
Support: The Void Dragon
Long ago, millions upon millions of years before humans even existed, The Silent King of the Necrons led his people against the C’Tan, star devouring gods of limitless power. The Necrons were successful, and shattered them all into numerous shards across the galaxy, which they then trapped and harnessed to wage war with. One of these was Mag’ladroth, the Void Dragon. Stated to be the greatest and most powerful of his kind, The Emperor fought, defeated, and sealed away a shard of the Void Dragon on Mars, trapped in the Noctis Labyrinth. There it lays dormant, although The Emperor has brought it out before during the Rangdan Xenocide, and promptly struck all records of the event from knowledge. It is unknown how many shards formed the amalgamation that The Emperor fought, however here is a brief purview of what even basic and weak shards are capable of:
- Even basic C’tan shards can banish people to alternate realities, control minds, reduce people to primordial ooze, fire energy blasts, manipulate the flow of time, and manipulate reality itself to their horrid whims.
- They can send people back to the darkness before time was time by manipulating casualty and time.
- Can drain the life of all living beings with just a gaze
- Its mere presence causes the physical laws that govern reality to buckle and shake
- Can cast illusions hiding the true nature of itself and its allies
- Can conjure a cloud of darkness to conceal itself from foes
- Gravity is destabilized by its presence and metal rots away at its touch.
- Can summon and hurl meteors of antimatter
- Just one shard of a C’Tan was used to power a machine called the Breath Of The Gods, which used the past and future to create entire star systems, and threatened to wipe out the entire timestream, and caused the skein to start to unravel. The shard on Mars is called vast in comparison to it.
Resistances
Disease: Is capable of being unaffected by the toxic fumes of Barbarus, which were so potent even Mortarion, who breathes toxic gas with no issue, could not stand them. He can also heal and resist even the most powerful diseases of Nurgle, such as the Godblight, which plague the soul as well as the body.
Mental Resistance, Soul Manipulation, Space Manipulation, Matter Manipulation: Psykers are capable of resisting other psykers powers than normal creatures. And can even use the Warp to fight back against any sourcery attempted against them. As the greatest Psyker in all of mankind, The Emperor can resist practically any powers an opposing sorcerer could throw at him. Horus threw his mind through 13 dimensions and he tanked it.
Soul Absorption, Reality Manipulation: Can survive being stabbed by Drach’nyen, a demon possessed blade which rends reality apart, and drinks the souls of its victims.
Power Nullification: Blanks can seal off the Warp because they don't have a soul, disrupting all but the most powerful demons, and completely disabling psyker abilities and even causing them pain. This is a passive effect they do not have active control over, yet The Emperor can fight alongside the Sisters of Silence with no ill effects despite his incredible psychic might.
Cosmic Awareness: Can hide himself like a ghost and remain undetected by Rogal Dorn, Constantin Valdor, and Malcador. A primarch, the captain of the Custodes, and one of the greatest human psykers ever to live.
- Even the most common astromancer can detect and talk to other psykers across the galaxy and warp. Malcador should be far, far above this.

Scaling
Davoth
Doom Slayer
Davoth’s ultimate mistake. In his quest to get revenge, Davoth manipulated Samur into empowering the Slayer with his Essence, bringing him to the level of a Primeval. Slayer would further grow in power by absorbing Essence from countless demons, and from his own rage. By the time of the Ancient Gods part 2, Slayer and Davoth stood as near equals. Slayer managed to defeat him, but only after a pitched fight which could see either losing. Davoth scales above any feat the Doom Slayer accomplished prior to the events of TAG2. Doomslayer has:
- Killed the Great One and Dreadnaught, Titans that surpassed the power of the giant Ancestrals, with his bare hands and a Crucible. The Impact of an Ancestral blade created a mountain range (5.82 Megatons of TNT)
- He is superior to his older weapons due to his rage boost in the Dark Ages, and so is the BFG9000. Such weapons include the Ballistic Force Crossbow, which destroyed a large rock formation (1.3 Megatons of TNT)
- Survived the explosion of VEGA’s core
- VEGA’s operating systems are stated to require 2.4 terawatts at minimum (573 Tons of TNT at minimum)
- Survived the detonation of Argent Tower (7.07 to 28 kilotons of TNT)
- Able to tank and absorb energy from Argent Caches, which have more energy in them than 12 months' worth of energy from a nuclear reactor
- Doom Slayer’s Praetor Suit could withstand numerous weapon tests by the UAC, which should include a 2 Megakelvin laser they have access to (1.08 Megatons of TNT)
- Wields the Dreadmace, which is infinitely dense
- Doom Slayer moves relative to lightning (Mach 0.5 -1.75)
- Doom Slayer moves relative to chain gun bullets (Mach 2.7)
- Doom Slayer moves relative to Icon of Sin’s meteors (Mach 9.6-35.7)
- Has speed “beyond thought”
- Avoided a laser from a Cyberdemon (Potentially aim dodge, 0.07c)
Forces of Hell
Davoth is the strongest being in Hell, the creator of all demons. He upscales from any demon to ever exist.
- Titans are immune to conventional weaponry
- Ahzrak can tank hits from the Dreadmace, which has infinite density
- The Heart of Argent would give the user power of a god, and Argent d’Nur would not survive that much power in Hell’s hands. Ahzrak absorbs it. This should make him by default stronger than any Atlan Mech. Atlan Mech’s Rocket Punch (7.14 Kilotons of TNT & Mach 2.2)
- Kept up with Doom Slayer’s Dragon, who has a top speed of Mach 5.2
- In a stronger state, Icon of Sin in Eternal makes a massive storm (shown here), and previously had made a similar storm over the skies of Urdak (3.7 megatons of TNT)
Emperor Of Mankind
The Primarchs
"They shall be my sons, and in them will live the hopes of a unified Humanity. Theirs will be the strength to prevail, not only when victory lies within easy reach, but even when it seems unattainable, when doom settles like a shroud all about. In those times of darkness, my noble sons will shine the brightest of all."
-The Emperor
Twenty transhuman supersoldiers genetically crafted by The Emperor to lead his legions of Space Marines during the Great Crusade. Each of them handcrafted, with The Emperor’s own genetics used as a template for their creation. As each of them are meant to have aspects of the Emperor’s own power, in addition to The Emperor being shown to be outright superior to them at multiple points, with the Emperor even taking on their aspects in his fight against Horus. As such, it should be safe to scale or even upscale any feat they are capable of to The Emperor himself. We don't talk about Primarch 2 or 11. Just don't
- Roboute Guillimon is capable of fighting in the emptiness of space without a helmet, killing multiple Chaos Space Marines
- The battle between Russ and Magnus was so great it messed with the flow of time
- Rogal Dorn is said to be the greatest strategist in the galaxy
- Corvus Corax has multiple feats of being undetectable even as people look directly at him. By simply willing to not be seen. Upon empowering himself with the warp, he can even manifest himself as pure shadow.
- Lion El’Jonson strikes with meteoric force
- Lion could also resist the telepathy of a being that could control over one billion minds.
- Fulgrim can tank a blow that would tear apart a battle tank
- Angron can casually throw around several hundred tons
- Jaghatai Khan can move faster than thought
- Sanguinius can beat Bloodletter Demons to death with his fists
- Magnus The Red can obliterate entire legions with just a glare
- Magnus, while moving through The Warp, created entire concepts and philosophies.
- Magnus can block the foresight of other psykers
- Magnus can just transmute people to various substances
- Magnus is claimed to be the second smartest being in the galaxy, behind The Emperor
- Magnus can become ethereal and phase through physical matter
- Konrad Curze can use his foresight to know where bolter rounds will land before they are ever fired
Horus Lupercal
"I never wanted this. I never wanted to unleash my legions. Together, we banished the ignorance of Old Night. But you betrayed me, you betrayed us all. You stole power from the Gods and lied to your sons. Mankind has only one chance to prosper, if you will not seize it, then I WILL. So let it be war, from the skies of Terra to the Galactic Rim. Let the seas boil, let the stars fall. Though it takes the last drop of my blood, I will see the galaxy freed once more. And if I cannot save it from your failure, Father, then let the galaxy BURN!"
-Horus Lupercal
The first found son, Warmaster of The Great Crusade, greatest among the Primarchs. Horus was once a paragon of the Imperium, beloved by almost all who knew him, a natural leader and gifted strategist and a renowned warrior. After being wounded by a magical blade, he was taken to a local mystic to be healed by his warriors. There, he saw a vision: The Emperor, ruled as a god, Primarchs cast out or dead, an Imperium a mere corpse of itself. Then, with terrible resolve, he decided to turn against his father and the Imperium under the belief he was saving it. Thus began the Horus Heresy, the most massive civil war the Imperium would ever fight, and after many long and bloody years Horus and The Emperor finally clashed. After a long and bloody battle, a mortally wounded Emperor defeated Horus, and in that moment Horus realized that he was merely a pawn of Chaos. Begging and repentant, Horus pleaded with his father to kill him, which the Emperor sadly obliged after some final words. And the vision that Horus saw; An Emperor worshipped as a god, an Imperium ruined beyond salvaging, came to pass.
One of the Emperor’s greatest enemies he ever fought, it was Horus who wounded the Emperor so badly that he was forced to be interred on the Golden Throne. A perfect tool of the Chaos Gods, they empowered him more than any other champion in order to prepare him for fighting The Emperor, and he came very close to defeating his father.
- Created the Lupercal Court, which is repeatedly stated to be infinite in scale
- Was forced to basically shatter his mind in order to keep The Emperor from reading it from Terra and learning his plans
- Reality gets absolutely sundered in his fight against his father
- Dodges along the infinite dimensions of the Warp during his fight against the Emperor
- Bruh what the hell is this
- Lorgar states that Horus has been bestowed with more power by the Chaos Gods than any other
- Reached across dimensions to grab Sanguinus out of the air and slam him into the ground
- Brutally murdered Sanguinus in single combat
- Completely blanketed the entire sol system in a warp storm, tearing down time and space and merging Terra with his flagship The Vengeful Spirit
- Permanently killed Oll Persson, a perpetual, in a single blow
The Chaos Gods
Fancomic made by Emwattnot
Malevolent, twisting, cruel entities composed of pure thought and psychic energy that exist inside the Warp. “The Old Four” as some call them: Khorne, Slaanesh, Tzeenetch, and Nurgle are the most powerful Gods of the Warp. They view their servants and mortals in the material world as entertainment at best, a source of food at worst. Yet, amongst all the powerful and reality warping beings in realspace, they fear only one man: The Emperor. And so they sought to corrupt his favorite son Horus, and set him against his father with the most powerful gifts they could bestow in the hopes that Horus could slay their most hated foe. Given how merely the shockwaves from Horus and The Emperor’s clash could burn and harm them, and how The Emperor while possessing Guilliman could permanently scar and harm Nurgle himself, scaling is pretty straightforward. However, given how they don't actually do anything outside the Warp itself, scaling shall be delayed until the Warp Cosmology section.
Weaknesses
Davoth
Arrogant to T, Davoth believes himself a savior trying to cure his subjects of the concept of death. Davoth’s obsession threatened to unravel the very multiverse he constructed, and that is why his own subjects turned on him. Davoth also can be blinded by his rage. He brought about his own end by manipulating events to empower the Doom Slayer. Even his own subjects in Hell are not entirely loyal, as many have tried to become the Dark lord in his place. The Dark Lord’s own weapons are not perfect either. While his armor can function if heavily damaged, it eventually shuts down after the Slayer hits it one too many times.
Emperor Of Mankind
The Emperor is a deeply arrogant man. Thousands of years of being the smartest, strongest, and most powerful man in the room has left The Emperor incredibly self assured. Once he has decided on a course of action, it is very difficult to sway him from his path, and almost impossible to convince him he is wrong. In addition, while his foresight can help inform him of both far away problems and immediate danger, it struggles in what will be called “the middle”. Imagine a sheer cliff face if you will. You know that, if you can climb this cliff face, you will succeed in your mission. You can also see where the cliff face begins, how to get there, and even some good spots to start your climb. However, everything else between you and the summit? It's hard to say, as you can make out potential pathways and routes, but you cannot see if the rock is loose, or the ascent too steep. Perhaps a great gust of wind will challenge your grip. You simply do not know until you begin. This is how The Emperor’s foresight works. Incredible in the short term and long term, but in between is thousands of possible futures he must work out to find his path.
Before The Verdict
Warhammer 40K
Warp Cosmology
“If ever there was a man in history less suited for this task than me, I haven't met him.” -Discount Ginger
The Warp is a dimension of pure psychic energy that exists outside of realspace. It goes by many names: the Immaterium, the Void, The Sea of Souls. Whatever the name, it is the realm of Chaos, and carved out primarily into four separate subsections, one for each of the Chaos Gods as they battle each other for supremacy in what's known as The Great Game. The Warhammer physical universe is 4 dimensional. As it exists outside of time, demons can appear and be killed before they are even born. Slaanesh, despite being “born” by the Eldar in the 30th millenium, has always existed because of this trait. When Horus blanketed the entire Sol system, it is described as a complete collapse of four dimensional physics. Time and space ceased to have any meaning. Physics no longer exists. Hallways stretched infinitely long, places of Terra from ages past were crudely stitched onto the present as the material world ceased to have meaning.
Between The Warp and the Materium, exists The Veil, also called The Skein. This is the wall that psykers must breach if they wish to summon the demonic entities that exist on the other side. It is in this place where fate exists, and can be seen by farseers and the like. It is noted to be beyond description, with the best farseers describing it as infinitely shattering mirrors, fragments of past present and future infinitely interweaving on top of each other. Containing all of reality itself.
Above The Veil, there is the Warp. The Warp is described as having infinite angles and layered infinities, and during their battle, the Emperor and Horus battle along infinite dimensions, with the Emperor even attempting to damage Horus by shooting fireballs across all of them. And other claims of infinite dimensions exist as well. It is stated to have 3 layers, and warp travel only goes across the most shallow layer. Furthermore, when The Vengeful Spirit was used as an anchoring point for the Warp to blanket the Sol System, it is described as infinite angles and countless planes folding into and out of each other, akin to a matryoshka doll. It is also described as existing outside of causality and destiny. Chaos both exists and does not exist, which, to my understanding, is a form of transduality (????). Furthermore, when warp storms enter realspace, they are described as being both real and not real at the same time.
Chaos Gods and their realms are made up of ideas, conceptual beings composed of the emotions and thoughts that form them. Their forms, as seen by few mortals, are naught but avatars of their true selves. Their realms, their avatars, and their very demon spawn are naught but parts of their abstract essence. For example, while Nurgle’s manifestation may exist inside of his black manor, the garden outside his abode is also a part of his being as well, as are the various nurglings and demons that reside in the garden. With the true forms of Chaos Gods being transcendent of all this.
The Dark King/The Star Child
Fanart of The Dark King by artist emwattnot
A prophesied 5th Chaos God, long foretold by farseers both Eldar and Human. A super deity, predicted by some to be even more powerful than The Old Four. As the Horus Heresy waged on, acts of divination foretold that Horus or the daemon prince Samus could potentially be the Dark King and ascend. However, this was not to be. For as The Emperor rushed through The Vengeful Spirit to face his firstfound son, he realized he would need more power if he wanted a better chance of winning the upcoming duel.
And so he drank from the warp, more deeply and quickly than ever before, and it became apparent to all that it is he that would become The Dark King! A God so vast it would consume the entire galaxy, larger than not only our universe, but even Chaos itself! All would be consumed into his being, not a single atom left unchanged in his wake. To merely gaze upon him is to die, and then be reborn yet again. This is the end and the death of everything. However, mercifully, miraculously, The Emperor was talked down from this power by a dear friend Ollanius Pillus, and cast off this power, determined to face Horus as a human, not a god. Even if it meant the chances of victory were slim. But, it is said that this is not the end of the Dark King, and that in some future age, he may come again, whether the Emperor wishes it or not.
But, let it be known that the future is not without hope. For when the Emperor cast away his power, he also cast off a portion of his soul, filled with his compassion, love, loyalty, and mercy, so that he would not hesitate or be filled with regret when the time would come to kill his beloved son Horus. Some theorize that, should this fragment be rejoined with the Emperor, he would reincarnate not as a malevolent and evil Dark King, but as a benevolent and kind God, the Star Child.
Ultimately, both The Dark King and the Star child are hypotheticals, and chances are Games Workshop will never bring either into fruition. However, they do help demonstrate the hypothetical highest end of The Emperor’s powers, and perhaps help solidify any higher scaling to The Warp and the Chaos Gods if doubt remains. These forms are unnecessary for this
matchup, and likely unusable regardless, but I felt it important to address and explain for a more comprehensive understanding of The Emperor and his power/character.
Are Souls Equal To Information?
I blame Kirbonic for this
This is a theorem in progress, formulated by a man perhaps too intellectually incompetent to fully understand the ideas he is proposing. Regardless, there is a string of interesting ideas and theories I have noticed and wish to bring to light. And that is the idea of souls in 40k existing on a higher, informational level. To begin, it has been established earlier that the realms of Chaos and their gods are composed of ideas and information. A conceptual realm that is actively shaped by the emotions and thoughts of the mortal living. It was the enhanced souls of races such as the Eldar that twisted the Warp into such a violent and malevolent realm in the first place during the War in Heaven. When a mortal worshipper of a Chaos God dies, their soul is absorbed into their God’s essence. And it is these very souls that are the source of power for warpcraft such as the Golden Throne, or how demons of Slaanesh wield the Jewel of Excess, which is filled with the souls of every psyker slain by the demon to enhance their magical might. Furthermore, it is explicit that blanks such as the Sisters of Silence are soulless creatures, and this soulless nature allows them to cut off connection to the warp, much to the mental and physical distress of all living creatures around them with a soul.
The Necrons also lack souls, burned in the biofurnaces of the Ctan, meaning they explicitly have no connection to the Warp, making them both immune to corruption from Chaos and helpless against enemy sorcery without equipment such as the Null Field Matrices. These same structures built from noctilith cause mental distress to psychically attuned races such as humans over time much like a blank. Finally, when Malcador the Sigillite was interred on the Golden Throne, his soul burning away to nothing, he states he has been burned down to merely an idea. Further stating that this same state of being was fortified and stabilized by the sanction of one thousand psykers to be sacrificed to the Throne. As such it is plausible to claim that souls in the Warhammer universe exist on a higher, informational level.
Doom
Doom Cosmology
The Doom Multiverse is generally simple. There are infinite timelines, a myriad of dimensions that make up a multiverse, which is encompassed by an infinite Void. All dimensions in the multiverse are universes per Hugo Martin. Unique among all realms are Hell and Urdak. Hell is divorced from space and time, and is actively adding mass to itself from all the planets and universes that the forces of Hell absorb into its structure over time. Urdak is a floating city in a dimension called the Holt, that uses technology to shift its quantum position with Hell. Hell’s dimension is surrounded by all others. Travel is possible between Hell and Urdak via a special portal. Apart from these exists the Cosmic Realm, the home of the Wraiths. The Cosmic Realm is a dying universe that corrupts other realities. The laws of physics are distorted in the Realm. Above all these is the Void. The Void is a bulk space that houses the dimensions of the multiverse. Urdak has special machines that connect to the Void called the Engines of Creation.
Is Cosmic Doom a Fraud?
Cosmic levels of power for the Doom Franchise have been controversial ever since the release of Doom Eternal. The codex of that game reveals that Davoth made the Multiverse (with his name changed to the Father due to Maykr propaganda). While we don’t see Davoth make the multiverse, The Father notes at the end of the Ancient Gods Part 2 that Davoth did make everything “by his hand”. Earlier this year, the 2025 Master Chief vs Doom Slayer addressed this claim in detail and I would like to briefly go over the context shown there.
Davoth came into being alongside the Void and set forth to make realities. We will quote directly from the Codex to make more apparent what Davoth did and did not do with his power.
“The Father (Davoth), the creator of all things, served as the guiding light for the Maykrs of Urdak for untold eons before vanishing from their realm. Ageless and formless, the logic and power of the Father gave birth to untold dimensions and worlds, giving rise to innumerous species and civilizations.”
So Davoth made the realms with power and logic. More entries in the Book of the Seraphs show that it was done with the power of the Void, done by the Engines of Creation. It is important to note Jekadd is the first world, not Urdak. The order is switched in the book due to propaganda.
It is written by the Seraphs that when the void first appeared, the Father alone swept across it. New realities bloomed where he lingered, and when he stopped to rest, Urdak sprung forth from him. Here, the Father experimented until he created Jekkad, a realm superior to Urdak.
The very first creations molded from the void in Urdak. Seraphs are bound to the Father's will. The angelic creatures helped build the Father's works, assisted his research, and once winged through creation to do the Father's bidding.
Most favored of all Seraphs was Samur Maykr. It was he who administered worlds, studied divine experiments, and reported progress in all creation. After much time, the Father grew frustrated with his own many divine errors, most vexing of all being Jekkad and its continued slide into discordance.
It was from here the Father (Davoth) first created the new dimension of Jekkad (Urdak). It was here he formed Davoth (Father). And it was this ground that served as his first workshop and as a retreat from Urdak, where the Father could direct the engines of creation and oversee Jekkad's gleaming spires and glorious civilization. Samur could travel to the Sanctum, but never into Jekkad. The Father would keep his realms separated.
After creating Jekkad, the Father retreated to his workshop to plan the Earth realm. It was also here that the Father meditated on the future of existence, and made his plan to withdraw from the physical world.
It is only in the Luminarium that the resurrection can take place, and only the Seraphs that can give a life sphere the return of its original form, calling on the engines of creation to harness the great powers that lay between the dimensions.
Whispered into existence in the first moment Urdak bloomed around the Father, the Luminarium is the first place of all places. It is the holiest of all grounds.
Under its cornerstones the quantum engines of creation stir. The vast inter-dimensional structures spin in and out of existence, and they give rise to the energy needed to split essence from physical form, or to restore it.
The engines of creation are not metaphors or poetic words, but structures that lay just on the other side of reality itself. Under the Luminarium they breach the void's walls to touch the physical world.
Hell's machines can pull a soul from its body and process it into Argent. But Hell cannot return a soul to a body. It will never resurrect what it has consumed. It takes energies far more exotic than any Hell controls to not just cleave a being's essence from its body, but reincorporate it. Hell's machines are toys to what lies under the Luminarium.
The Seraphs proudly control these forces, calmly manipulating the nature of creation and mind to give life again to raw energy. Every life sphere resurrected is a sign of Seraph power and competence. The realms age around the Luminarium, but the Seraphs will always stand as the greatest engineers of the many dimensions the Father created.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a consistent narrative that Davoth used the Engines of Creation, interdimensional devices that connect to the Void, to draw power to mold his creations, both realms and lifeforms. He had several workshops, which he used to plan out and make universes, like “the Earth Realm” (Doom Slayer’s universe). Davoth is a builder and scientist; it's why he made the Maykrs, to help him cure mortality. The Father saying everything was made by Davoth’s hand is not literal (in the sense of being creation feats), as he includes Doomslayer in the same context. Davoth’s manipulations empowered Slayer via technology, but he did not literally make him.
Does this mean Davoth is a fraud? No. Davoth likely created Jekadd via sheer force of will, as the Engines of Creation came into being after as part of Urdak, in the Luminarium.
Let us cover that in full, via the Codex:
Translations of ancient texts name Immora as the capital city of Hell. Davoth, the creator of this primal realm, came to be known as the Dark Lord after the betrayal by the race of Maykrs he had crafted. Sealed off against his will from the other dimensions, the first world (known then as Jekkad) fell into corruption and transformed over time into Hell.
Once a paradise at the dawn of creation, Immora now survives as a stronghold where the Dark Lord resides.
Davoth has bindings to Jekadd/Hell that he has with no other realm he made:
If it came to pass that the Dark Lord were ever reincarnated in physical form only another Primeval, or something more powerful, could slay him. Once vanquished in this manner, the Dark Lord could no longer rule Hell. Stripped of a Primeval's bindings to the realm it was forged in, it would be scattered across the stars. Any denizens of Hell not inside the realm's borders would die as they lost their connection to the very reality the Father designed them for.
Jekadd or Urdak (could be either due to propaganda), has a statement that its creation was effortless, and the implication is that it was by accident, as the other realms were the only true experiments:
This lush expanse of supernal nature borders the edges of Urdak, reflecting the state of the realm when it first came into being by the effortless breath of the Father.
Whispered into existence in the first moment Urdak bloomed around the Father, the Luminarium is the first place of all places.
As discussed in abilities, Davoth creates via his Essence, his very life energy that directly scales to his physical power. The implication in lore is that Davoth made Jekadd effortlessly, and as such this should be treated as a Universal feat. jekadd grew larger over time as demons added more mass to the realm, such as the Icon of Sin absorbing more universes into it. This would not scale back to Davoth, as he only made it in its original size. As such it is a baseline universal creation feat. It's likely he did the same with Urdak, but he made that after Jekadd, so it would be baseline as well.
Is it consistent?
Once more the Dark Ages comes to the rescue! In the game, the Doom Slayer gains a unique weapon from the Cosmic Realm, the Dreadmace, a mace that the scholars of Argent D’Nur deduce has infinite density. The demon Ahzrak can tank hits from this weapon, and the Doom Slayer in turn caves Ahzrak’s face in well before his final clash with Davoth years later. A possible issue is that the Mace originates from a realm that doesn’t seem to abide by the laws of physics. This shouldn’t take away from the power of the mace, though. The energies and weapons of the realm still have impact force potent enough to shatter reality, and the weapons were made by gods who had dominion over the stars. Slayer actually kills one of these gods, the Old One, from the inside and tanks an explosion caused by killing Ulsamir, who is a living conduit for the energies of the Cosmic Realm. Universal Davoth, and in turn Doom Slayer, should be fine enough by the end of the Dark Ages.
Other cosmic arguments were addressed in detail in the aforementioned G1 blog, you can read them here. On a final note, we are not using Quake. Quake’s canonicity to Doom is dubious, as Quake Lore Master Sync has mentioned that it is likely they are not canon to one another.
Infinite Speed go brrr?
Doom has a few arguments that do not check out for Infinite Speed. Maykr’s use portals and teleportation to travel as an example, instead of literally flying across universes. Davoth has a similar argument. When Davoth is killed at the end of Eternal’s DLC, his essence bleeds out as a shockwave, with the Book of the Seraphs stating it would be scattered to the “stars”, likely in every realm. This is not applicable to Davoth himself, as it is a mere chain reaction of his death. As such, Doom still has no solid infinite speed feat. On an unfortunate sidenote, the Marauder Sub Relativistic feat is also sadly bunk, as the Microwave Beam is not actually that type of weapon, it just fires a beam of plasma.

Verdict
Stats
As two beings of literal godlike power, both Davoth and The Emperor are capable of incredible feats of strength. Davoth, to start, is vastly superior to the Icon Of Sin, which could create massive storms, and its mere defeat caused several megatons of destruction. Davoth also created Jekadd and Urdak/The Holt (one by one), full on Universes. He is far more durable than Ahzrak, who could tank hits from the Dreadmace, which has infinite density. The Dark Lord was fully capable of keeping up with the Doom Slayer, who can move in tandem with meteors at mach 35 and years prior dodged a laser while he was still a regular human at a portion the speed of light (0.07c). The Slayer got significantly faster, with his speed being stated to be faster than “thought”. As such, Davoth would be far faster then the Sub Relativistic, possibly approaching the speed of light with leeway given how much power and speed the Slayer has accumulated over the years.
The Emperor could likewise overpower Orks, and his clash with Horus shattered part of the moon. However, these basic showings bely their much deeper wells of power. At his best, Davoth created all of Jekkad, an entire universe! And despite the sheer bulk of his armor, can dart around the battlefield with extreme speed that keeps pace with the Doomslayer, breaking the speed of sound with ease. However, The Emperor Of Mankind could fight Horus, who created the Lupercal Court, an infinite realm. He is also on par with the Chaos Gods themselves, having permanently scorched Nurgle’s Garden and permanently wounding the plague god himself! Keep in mind that Gods are equal to their realms, and more directly Khorne has shaken all of Chaos simply by walking around. Chaos is stated repeatedly to be infinitely dimensional, and has layered infinities, amongst other claims. The Emperor is far faster than primarchs, who see lasers as still moving. He has launched fireballs across the infinite dimensions of The Warp chased Horus across it. He is far faster than anything Davoth scales to.
No matter how you slice it, The Warp is far larger than anything in Doom. The Emperor is also faster too: he is far superior to his sons, who view lasers as frozen in time. He also fought the demon Drach’nyen so quickly they slid in and out of existence itself, and chased Horus across the infinite dimensions of the warp in their battle! Finally, in his battle against Horus, The Emperor and his son were capable of waging numerous battles across space and time simultaneously, which is far greater than what Davoth has shown. Stats go to The Emperor.
Arsenal & Abilities
Before they became warriors, these two were first creators, and their arsenals reflect this. Both have incredible suits of power armor to keep themselves safe, power swords of incredible might, forcefields, guns, and more! Not to mention their incredible feats of sorcery. However, while they can match in many aspects, the Emperor simply ends up edging out where it counts. For example, Davoth is incapable of repairing his power armor as it takes damage during a battle, while The Emperor can with this technopathy. The Crucible blade can generate incredible heat and negate the soul-based regen of Titans, but The Emperor’s blade can disrupt solid matter and negate the healing of Chaos Gods, conceptual beings.
Likewise, while Davoth can manipulate souls via their essence, summon forcefields, travel across dimensions, and corrupt an entire universe over time, it simply isn't anything The Emperor isn't capable of exceeding on his own or that he hasn't dealt with before. Keep in mind even the most basic sanctioned psyker of the Imperium is capable of manipulating souls or messing with minds, and The Emperor is far, far above them, having repeatedly been stated to be the greatest psyker in the setting. Davoth can resist mind manipulation, but nothing on the level of the Cacodominus, which could control the minds of 1300 systems simultaneously. Davoth can dimension hop across universes to try and get an edge in a fight, but the Emperor has jumped across time and space. Davoth can summon an army of demons, The Emperor can summon an army of spectral legionaries and a C’Tan!
This isn't to mention all the myriad of powers The Emperor has that Davoth cannot answer either, such as stopping time, manipulating cause and effect, wiping out his memories, stealing his power, or the Emperor’s incredible foresight letting him see how to win. Finally, while Davoth will die if his essence is destroyed, The Emperor has regenerated his entire soul from nothingness multiple times, so even if Davoth had any abilities that could bypass the monstrous stat gap, it's doubtful he could ever keep The Emperor down for the count. Davoth has many great abilities, but ultimately is outdone at every step by the Master of Mankind. Arsenal and Abilities goes to The Emperor.
Tertiary Factors
Both Davoth and the Emperor have experience as commanders on the battlefield. Davoth led Jekadd against Urdak, and the Emperor led the Imperium on his conquests. Both also have spent thousands of years in a suspended state, reduced to mere embers of what they used to be. In direct combat, though, the Emperor has better showings of applying his skills to lead and win large-scale confrontations. Davoth was defeated in his home turf by the Father and lost once more when the Slayer invaded his capital of Immora with the Night Sentinels. The Emperor, on the other hand, has a longer list of victories and was only defeated due to his compassion for Horus (and he still won that fight). Both are technical geniuses, Davoth more so in his creation of full-on universes, something the Emperor has never done through technology. Davoth never applies this to combat, though. He made a power suit, sure, but it is quite basic. Both are equally skilled with the blade, and as such Tertiary Factors are a tie.
Conclusion
"Tell me... have you nothing to say to your creator... before you strike him down?"
Davoth
Advantages:
- Scientifically smarter
- Overall just as experienced
- Can match many of The Emperor’s Abilities…
Disadvantages:
- …But ultimately The Emperor’s are better and more varied
- Far weaker
- Far slower
- Far easier to kill
- His DLC boss fight got tragically cut short
"No world shall be beyond my rule; no enemy shall be beyond my wrath."
God Emperor of Mankind
Advantages:
- Takes the stat trinity with ease
- Has both a more varied and more powerful toolkit
- Is far more capable as a general
- Is far more immortal than Davoth
Disadvantages:
- Not as scientifically smart
- Created Perturabo
Ultimately this fight ends up fairly clear cut, even with the utmost leniency given to Davoth, he is simply outpowered, outgunned, and outshone. At every step The Emperor can answer anything the Primeval can do, and surpass it with his own powers. Davoth can make Universes? The Emperor can damage the Chaos Gods and their higher dimensional realms. Davoth can potentially move close to the speed of light? The Emperor sees that as a still image. He can fight Horus across the infinite dimensions of the Warp. Davoth just cannot match him. Davoth’s Essence Manipulation is dreictly countered by the Emperor. His creative intelligence is never actively used in combat and the Emperor is equally as skilled as he is. To really drive home the issue here, The Emperor’s sheer aura burns away weaker demons the way the Sun burns away darkness. Simply by standing within fifty feet of the guy, Davoth would struggle to not simply burn to death. While Davoth is a powerful being in his own right, he is simply outclassed by humanities’ King of Ages. The winner is The Emperor of Mankind
Final Tally
